During Fall Break, 10/6 – 10/23, students have 2 assignments to complete.
1. Each student received login information for a website called xtramath.org. They need to access this website for 10 minutes each day and practice their math skills. They are able to access from a computer, smartphone or tablet. The library is also a great choice where students can use computers. If none of these are options for you, please make multiplication flash cards for practice. The information on how to get started was attached to the homework packet given on Monday. Check your child’s take-home folder if you have not seen this packet yet. If you need further information or help, please email me at email@example.com. These skills are essential for every 5th grader.
2. In the homework packet given on Monday, there are also 3 weekly reading logs. Each student is required to read at least 2 hours each week, complete the reading log for the days they read and have a parent/adult sign that they have read. This packet (3 reading logs) is due the first day we come back to school, on Monday, October 24th.
Have a wonderful and safe Fall Break!
Over Fall Break students have 2 assignments:
1. Read one entire book over break and fill out a book report worksheet (sent home on Wednesday). The worksheet asks students to write about the characters, setting, problem, solution, and to rate the book. It should take about an hour to fill out.
2. Practice math facts on Xtramath.org for 10 minutes a day. Login info sent home on Wednesday. You can access the website on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. If students lose their login info there is a second copy included with their report card. If you do not have a smartphone or internet access, make some flashcards to use instead.
